There’s nothing quite like a crisp Sunday morning in Santiago to spark an adventure, especially when it involves getting out into nature with family. This past Sunday, my father and I decided to shake off the week’s dust with a climb up Cerro Manquehuito. It’s a fantastic spot for a quick escape, offering stunning views and a wonderful way to connect with both nature and loved ones. And, of course, it was the perfect excuse to put some new hiking shoes and my trusty GPS watch to the test!

As a dad of two adventurers – my spirited 3-year-old girl and my ever-curious 8-year-old boy – finding the perfect family trekking spot is always a win. We love getting out into nature, but it has to be somewhere that keeps everyone happy, from the tiniest tot to the grown-ups who are often carrying extra snacks (and sometimes, the tiniest tot!). Our latest conquest? The wonderful Manquehito Hill right here in Santiago, Vitacura. And for this adventure, we laced up our trusty Merrell Moab 3 hiking shoes.
